Hello and welcome to my place! Here is where I love to write and share my daily experiments with healthy food and my passion for natural light photography. I think we live in an awesome place where one can find inspiration in every little detail: a rain drop on an autumn apple, the fabulous texture of tiny chia seeds or little wheat berries that awaken to life by sprouting. This is why I’m fascinated by everything that’s natural – from colors, light, and ingredients to a caring way of living.
I invite you to discover my simple and nourishing recipes that are vegetarian, vegan or raw, as I only use natural ingredients: whole grains, fruits, vegetables and good fats. Eating whole ingredients makes you feel energized and gives you vitality and clarity to enjoy this life adventure to your fullest potential.
After 14 years of being a vegetarian I understood there are two things to completely trust:
– your body signals, telling you what is right and what is wrong for your health, and its capacity to heal when correctly nourished
– the kicking energy, the nutritional load of fresh, organic ingredients, and their fantastic effects on your health
Who am I?
I am Ana, a full time food photographer and certified nutritionist, living in Bucharest, Romania. It’s a charming city with beautiful architecture, cozy bistros and coffee shops, and lovely autumns – just take a look here if you don’t know where to go on your next holiday – I’m sure you’ll love it.
I’m not a native English speaker so I hope you’ll be indulgent if you find some strange expressions while reading my blog 🙂
Photography and healthy food are closely related in my life and I find my inspiration in capturing the authentic, vibrant splendor of whole ingredients by using natural light.
The Green Philosophy
I made the decision to give up meat because I have a deep respect for any form of life and I believe that living in harmony with everything that surrounds us, be it plant, animal, or human, is a great achievement in our spiritual journey.
After I gave up meat I fed myself horribly. Meat was out but dairy, fat, sugar and eggs were constantly in. My body reacted to this with hormone imbalances and benign cysts in my breasts because my liver was completely overwhelmed by the chaotic diet and couldn’t handle it.. This was the time when I knew something was wrong and I decided to switch to a natural way of living.
Step-by-step, I learned about how different ingredients affect or heal our bodies and which foods really nourish with nutrients for balanced cellular activity. I learned that food is energy and fresh ingredients are the key to a healthy diet. I discovered the joy of going to farmers’ markets and the pleasure of picking fresh ingredients myself. I eliminated white sugar, little by little gave up dairy products and I
only eat organic eggs. I discovered alternative sources of proteins and magnesium and I learned to make them part of my daily diet. With each meal I’m having I include something fresh: a salad, veggies, fruits or sprouts.
Now, every meal is a joy. I learned to love my food and cooking is always fun because I like easy-made and unsophisticated recipes: smoothies, salads, curries, soups and healthy desserts. I like to search and play with new ingredients packed with nutrients so I’m never bored in the kitchen and never eat the same meals every day. I grow sprouts, bake healthy bread, prepare fermented goods, use dry herbs for tea, eat seasonally and try to keep my diet as close to natural as possible.
Eating healthy doesn’t mean spending hours in the kitchen, searching for complicated recipes, running for superfoods nor giving up the things you like. It means listening to your inner self and your body signals, nourish it with varied and colorful ingredients, choosing raw every time you get the chance, loving your food and being grateful. Switching to the best version of yourself is a matter of choice!
