As you may have noticed, my postings have been quite rare lately, and this is only because this year was incredibly busy. My collaborations as a food and beauty photographer were very fruitful, and the one I am most proud of is doing the photography for Stephanie Gerber’s Hello Glow book. This collaboration taught me a lot of things, both professionally and personally. Stephanie is an amazingly talented woman who inspired me not only to be a better photographer, but also to change my beauty routine and turn to a natural way of taking care of my skin.
I was so excited when she announced that she was working on a printed book and the editors had chosen me as the main photographer! To be very honest, I’ve never seen any of photographs printed, except for the ones I took for my friends’ children. It was an incredible challenge, and I wasn’t sure I’d be successful at it.
My family and boyfriend encouraged me to go on and accept the challenge, and boy, it was such an empowering experience! I’ve worked with the most amazing team from the Weldon Owen publisher and taken photographs for some of the most inspiring beauty recipes for face, body and hair.
Think lavish cocoa body butter, scrumptious coconut lime lip scrub, hibiscus bliss whipped moisturizer, Sunshine-in-a-Bottle sea mist or the all-natural customizable beet blush!
All the recipes in the book (and there are 150+!) use natural ingredients like avocado, clay, honey, essential oils, fruits, healing herbs, natural pigments and superfoods such as algae, aloe vera or green tea. I love the way Stephanie created these recipes to be so easy to put together and with an immediately visible effect.
The information is perfectly structured, so if you want to start pampering your face or body with natural DIY ingredients at home, you can easily assemble a simple kit from just a few basic ingredients and tools.
I am so honored and happy every time I open the book (and believe me, it happens really often!) because I see my photographs illustrating the hard work behind those DIY beauty recipes. It is a lovely resource that I wish every woman who cares about her body to have. If you didn’t buy yet a Christmas present for the ladies in your life or for yourself, I warmly recommend the Hello Glow book!
