Hello and welcome to my place! Here is where I love to write and share my daily experiments with healthy food and my passion for natural light photography. I think we live in an awesome place where one can find inspiration in every little detail: a rain drop on an autumn apple, the fabulous texture of tiny chia seeds or little wheat berries that awaken to life by sprouting. This is why I’m fascinated by everything that’s natural – from colors, light, and ingredients to a caring way of living.

I invite you to discover my simple and nourishing recipes that are vegetarian, vegan or raw, as I only use natural ingredients: whole grains, fruits, vegetables and good fats. Eating whole ingredients makes you feel energized and gives you vitality and clarity to enjoy this life adventure to your fullest potential.

After 14 years of being a vegetarian I understood there are two things to completely trust:

–  your body signals, telling you what is right and what is wrong for your health, and its capacity to heal when correctly nourished

– the kicking energy, the nutritional load of fresh, organic ingredients, and their fantastic effects on your health

Who am I?

I am Ana, a full time food photographer and certified nutritionist, living in Bucharest, Romania. It’s a charming city with beautiful architecture, cozy bistros and coffee shops, and lovely autumns – just take a look here if you don’t know where to go on your next holiday – I’m sure you’ll love it.

I’m not a native English speaker so I hope you’ll be indulgent if you find some strange expressions while reading my blog 🙂

Photography and healthy food are closely related in my life and I find my inspiration in capturing the authentic, vibrant splendor of whole ingredients by using natural light.

The Green Philosophy

I made the decision to give up meat because I have a deep respect for any form of life and I believe that living in harmony with everything that surrounds us, be it plant, animal, or human, is a great achievement in our spiritual journey.

After I gave up meat I fed myself horribly. Meat was out but dairy, fat, sugar and eggs were constantly in. My body reacted to this with hormone imbalances and benign cysts in my breasts because my liver was completely overwhelmed by the chaotic diet and couldn’t handle it.. This was the time when I knew something was wrong and I decided to switch to a natural way of living.

Step-by-step, I learned about how different ingredients affect or heal our bodies and which foods really nourish with nutrients for balanced cellular activity. I learned that food is energy and fresh ingredients are the key to a healthy diet. I discovered the joy of going to farmers’ markets and the pleasure of picking fresh ingredients myself. I eliminated white sugar, little by little gave up dairy products and I

only eat organic eggs. I discovered alternative sources of proteins and magnesium and I learned to make them part of my daily diet. With each meal I’m having I include something fresh: a salad, veggies, fruits or sprouts.

Now, every meal is a joy. I learned to love my food and cooking is always fun because I like easy-made and unsophisticated recipes: smoothies, salads, curries, soups and healthy desserts. I like to search and play with new ingredients packed with nutrients so I’m never bored in the kitchen and never eat the same meals every day. I grow sprouts, bake healthy bread, prepare fermented goods, use dry herbs for tea, eat seasonally and try to keep my diet as close to natural as possible.

Eating healthy doesn’t mean spending hours in the kitchen, searching for complicated recipes, running for superfoods nor giving up the things you like. It means listening to your inner self and your body signals, nourish it with varied and colorful ingredients, choosing raw every time you get the chance, loving your food and being grateful. Switching to the best version of yourself is a matter of choice!

Firstly, I’ve been to Bucharest, and you’re right, it’s a great place and I’d love to visit again. 🙂

Your bio is wonderful and I can relate so much to it myself. I’ve been a vegetarian my entire life (I simply don’t like meat), but only the past 10-12 years have I drastically changed my diet as you have, and I’ll just say…I will never go back! Thank you so much for this blog, I’ll definitely be coming back for more recipes!

    • Ana

Proud to hear you liked Bucharest – the city is in a constant metamorphosis and I’m sure you’ll love it even more when you’ll come back next time!
I’m so happy when I hear similar stories of diet change – it was very hard when I first gave up meat because there wasn’t so much information nor ingredients available like there are today, and it was quite a struggle. It’s much more easier nowadays to start a healthy diet, but you can get confused by the high amount of information. I really appreciate all the feedback from someone experienced and I hope you’ll visit my blog again soon 🙂

How lovely to read about you:) When I became vegetarian 30 years ago it was very difficult to find any pre-prepared foods, and it seemed that cheese was all made with animal rennet to set it. However, I’ve always loved cooking and baking, so just made my own food.

I became vegan about 20 years ago, then found out I was wheat intolerant about 10 years ago, so preparing food became more interesting still:) ~And eating in restaurants almost impossible!!!! I seem to have survived, though:) I love food, and since it’s my choice to eat the way I do, I love feeding myself well, too.

Good luck with the change to veganism, and with your blog and photography.

Bye the way, your English is brilliant:)

Thank you so much, Christine! It was very interesting to read your vegan story – I noticed that I also have problems digesting wheat – it creates acidity and gives me a big discomfort (especially the white wheat flour products, which I eat in holidays only, when I have no options). I believe our bodies react to a healthy diet, and their signals when feeding them wrong become more powerful. It’s always so inspiring to read experienced vegans and vegetarians stories, thank you very much for writing me! Hugs and kisses, Ana

    Hi Ana

I just discovered your blog through pinterest and I absolutely dig it!
I live in Copenhagen, Denmark and I’m always on the lookout for inspiration in terms of healthy recipes and nutrition in general.
I’m not a vegetarian myself, but I eat according to what some people would name the “flexitarian” principle; apart from greens, nuts and grains I eat fish and then only organic meat and dairy products. Because I care about the animals and as well because I want to avoid add-ons from the production process that meat produced the conventional way has gone through.

Anyways, I’ve already found so much inspiration from your recipes and not least your stunning pictures! Especially I can’t wait to try out the chocolate-quinoa breakfast. My lord, it looks amazing!

I just wanted to say thank you and please keep up the good work! 🙂

Hi Josephine! Thank you for your nice words, I’m always happy to inspire people for a healthier lifestyle! Your flexitarian diet sounds really healthy, and I’m sure there will come a time to consider becoming a vegetarian ;). I also love your Pinterest account, especially the Interior board. You Danish guys have a great aesthetic sense, there are a lot of beautifully designed places and shops out there that inspire me. Thanks for your visit and let me know how the quinoa bowl turned out 🙂

Thank you! You can replace mango with peach or nectarine, I’m sure the general taste will be very similar. Let me know if this works!

    Hi Ana:

I just came across your website as I was searching for liver detox recipes. After having my gallbladder out last year and still having pain, I was sent for blood work by my doctor and further tests and have been told that I have a “fatty” liver and fibrosis of the liver. Very overwhelming to hear this as I felt lost as to where to start to correct my eating habits and take off 50 pounds that I have gained over the last several years. I feel like I have come upon your website at the right time…love your website and the variety of your recipes. Thanks so much for the inspiration!!!

Just believe in yourself and the amazing natural power of your body to heal itself!

    Hi Ana,

I just stumbled across your blog today and love it.

I wanted to make a comment about your feelings on the Wellness Warrior. You can eat all the right foods and still be sick. Human beings are tri-dimensional. You are a spirit that has a soul that lives in a body. The real you is a spirit. All sickness comes through the spirit. Divine health is dependent on so many things. Are you thankful? Do you walk in forgiveness? Do you speak words of death or life over yourself? Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?

A lot of these health blogs just focus on nutrition. That, my friend, is a small aspect to true health.

Great blog Ana! I have been conscious of eating healthy food. I will be trying your healthy mix food. Thought of using this for my future cafe menu. There are a few cafe’s that serve healthy food. I currently do the spinach shake mix with strawberry, banana, avocado and top with pure honey. It keeps me active all day.

Thanks for your blog! Hoping to see more of your healthy concoctions:)

Ana, I am so happy I found your blog! Your photographs are truly gorgeous, but my highest praise is for your recipes. Each one is filled with dense nutrients and fresh natural ingredients that just make my heart sing!

I started a new diet this year for people with Leaky Gut Syndrome, something my doctors believe could be the root cause for my various debilitating health conditions. It’s been a grueling transition, because I have cut out all sugars, grains, and other starches. My body had such strong reactions to suddenly being deprived of all those sugars and carbs, and I was starting to feel overwhelmed, depressed, and worried I wouldn’t find any food I could still digest AND enjoy. Then I stumbled across one of your soup recipes, and it opened my eyes to a whole new world of possibilities!

I have finally started making foods that I can enjoy that nourish my body at the same time, and it is making a world of difference! I love that with each recipe, you include descriptions of the ingredients and the ways in which they heal the body. I am learning so much, and I’ve probably pinned 2/3 of your recipes, haha!

I want to thank you so much for what you are doing here and for providing the turning point for me in this new journey toward natural wellness. I hope you know what an inspiration you are!

    Love and deliciousness,

Don’t worry too much about the food categories you must deprive your body from, there’s a whole window of possibilities out there and they will all lead you to find a new you – a healthier and happier one! I truly believe that every challenge in our life is a way to create new pathways and evolve, it only depends on which way you decide to approach the problem. Sending you all the positive vibes and wishing you all the health in the world! Love, Ana

Oh my gosh. Your message is so sweet and innocent. I love that you write in English so wonderfully yet are honest that it isn’t your native language. You go, beautiful girl! I think your recipes are inspiring and I am looking to make the eggplant falafal since I have two old eggies here in my house …curtesy of my husband who bought them last week! and didn’t think future as most men do, especially when they want to be “king of the house” and go food shopping on their own. I bite my tongue and hope he-man realizes that food shopping requires a bit of scheduliing and future meal preparation thought. He doesn’t get that so I find myself on my days off trying to salvage old veggies. Thank you for your blog. I look forward to viewing more!! Baci..! from American in Italy

It is a very hard journey when you decide to change your lifestyle and nutrition is a big part in this metamorphosis.
I train 5 days/week and was very worried that it would sustain me. It DOES!
We are so conditioned in thinking meat is essential. So it took time for me to make this change but I’m happy to say I BELIEVE! !
